Character Studies | The Book of James
JAIME ELGUEA & HARVEY ENG. Life Center 301. Discussion Format
Will you ever compromise your distinctive Christian lifestyle in order to blend in at work or church? How easily that could be accomplished by the manner of dress, speech, and action you display before your cohorts!  Should you embrace the awkwardness of not belonging to a community by being that nail that sticks out waiting to get hammered? Let's examine the discomforts of "Making Decisions in Difficult Situations" from various perspectives of  women in the Bible (Ruth, Esther, Mary Magdelene) and why our decision contribute to the spiritual impact on an unbelieving world. For the remaining half of the year we will delve into the book of James and the "one another" commands in the New Testament.

The Book of Acts (Continued)
Wes Wong. Life Center 304. Socratic Format
The continuation of a verse-by-verse expositional study on the book of Acts. Get "in-depth" as we study how the gospel spread from a small band of believers to reach the "uttermost parts of the earth".

One Another
TOMMY KWAN. Life Center 307. Small Group Format
Growing up I was taught if a word or phrase is repeated in the Bible then it's important and I need to pay attention. Thirty-six (36) times in the New Testament, we see the recurring word pattern — an action verb followed by "one another". For example, "love one another" (John 13:35), "forgive one another" (Col. 3:13), "encourage one another" (1 Thess. 5:11), "pray for one another" (James 5:16), and so on. For the coming year, our class will explore together this "one another" principle in the New Testament.

Developing Thriving Relationships in Jesus Christ
Mark & Rachel Dresser. Life Center 306. Small Group Format
Have you thought of building lasting relationships with the people you love and care about? Have you ever wondered why some relationships in your life seem to be difficult, broken, or never lasting? Have you found yourself chasing empty pursuits, only to find yourself unsatisfied? In the book Empty Promises, Pete Wilson (author of Plan B) describes one reason why we seem to be missing the point with relationships: “I believe the yearning for more that haunts us all exists to ultimately lead you to the person of Jesus Christ. That drive to worship is designed to impel us into PROPER RELATIONSHIP with the ONE who can fulfill our deepest desires.” Come join us in this small group of authentic community as we use this book to learn tools and skills to develop thriving relationships.

Becoming One
Chris & Becky Tomokiyo, Life Center 205-206. Discussion Format
For newly-married and soon-to-be-married couples. This class is designed specifically to help couples continue to build and strengthen their new marriages by presenting important principles and practices to “become one”. We will be using inductive Bible studies, dvd series, class discussion, and other methods to cover the material. The class will also seek to create an encouraging and supportive community of young couples going through the adjustments, blessings, and challenges of this unique season of life. Both partners are highly encouraged to attend.
