YAN Retreat: Details, Driving Instructions, Packing List and Map

With our 2014 Young Adult Network Retreat just around the corner, I'm sure all of you are very excited to spend Memorial Day weekend fellowshipping with others, glorifying God, and learning about "A Life Worth Living" from Colossians 1:9-14!
Here is some helpful information regarding logistics and important reminders.

6-8PM in Hayford Hall (see attached site map)

Reminders:
  • No dinner will be served Friday night.  See below link for dinner options.  
  • Submit your filled out Medical Form and check at registration 
  • Lodge amenities: towels, soap, rinse cup, A/C, blankets and pillows
  • Hayford Hall amenities: Free WIFI
  • Outdoor amenities: hiking trails, archery, bball court, human foosball court, just to name a few

Written Directions: 
Here are written directions for the Francisquito Canyon route for those who won't be using Google maps:

IN SANTA CLARITA
Find your way to Northbound Interstate 5 toward Six Flags Magic Mountain/Sacramento
Exit Valencia Blvd. (Exit #169), turn right onto Valencia Blvd.
Make a left turn onto McBean Pkwy (1 mile later, 4th signal)
Continue on McBean Pkwy until it ends over 3.5 miles later at Copper Hill Dr.
Make a right turn onto Copper Hill Dr.
Soon make a left turn at the 2nd signal onto San Francisquito Canyon Rd.

IN SAN FRANCISQUITO CANYON
Drive carefully around the tight curves in the canyon
6 miles later you will suddenly reach a stop sign, make a right turn to continue on San Francisquito
Continue all the way for about 13 miles (including a 35 MPH zone) until the road ends at Lake Elizabeth Rd.

LAKE ELIZABETH and LAKE HUGHES
Make a left turn onto Elizabeth Lake Rd. (Cross traffic does not stop)
Shortly after 3/4 mile you will reach another stop sign
Turn left to continue onto Elizabeth Lake Rd (Cross traffic does not stop)
After about 4.25 miles you will see a sign on the side of the road labeled "The Oaks"

ENTERING THE OAKS
Turn right and continue up the road and over the hill.
When you come down the hill, make a left turn at the 4-way intersection.
Continue all the way until you see a set of 4 one-story lodges on your immediate right and parking spaces on your immediate left.
Park here, Hayford Hall will be at the top of the hill behind the lodges.

    • E.g., pajamas, warm weather-appropriate clothes, jacket (just in case indoors might be chilly), athletic clothes if you plan on playing sports

    • Bring appropriate shoes for terrain which includes dirt trails, paved roads, sloping hills; flip flops for indoor/lodges; athletic shoes for sports; or hiking shoes or boots for those desiring to hike
